I was pretty blown away when Dick's Picks #30 came out. The tracks from the Bo Diddley set sounded so cool to me.

Anyone else dig this stuff?

Must have been pretty cool seeing that set live, in spite of a heavy Angels presence. The music has a really lovely groove and vibe, not like what I'd expect at a benefit for a motorcycle "club"

In spite of some rather poor sound quality, I dust this one off from time to time. Mainly to listen to rest of the Bo Diddley set that didn't make it on to Dick's Picks.

Unfortunately they left the best jam off!

I just can't stop listening to Wow Wow Hey Hey this morning. Gorgeous jamming, sounds so sublime even in very compromised sound quality.

I love Wow Wow Hey Hey...

Put this one in the "shoulda coulda woulda" column for me...I wish the whole show would have been released, or at least the full Bo Diddley set.

Although, this source compliments what we have very nicely...

Thanks for the reminder. One can only imagine how sweet it might have been if they had paired Wow Wow Hey Hey with Eyes in '73, '74 or '76 . . .

This is gorgeous. Prob because of the sound, I've never downloaded this show, but I think I should ought to. I have streamed it here before and had forgotten. I love DP30 and last time i was listening to it I remember well, I was painting and decorating my daughter's bedroom. Bo Diddley really has the skill of mastering the stage, huh? And it sounds like he was having a great time that eve, wonder if the rumors are true that he had a dose that night really kicking in while he was grooving here. I was painting along with a big smile on my face, not just the paint fumes, but high on the music! Love that Smokestack Lightning!! The Academy of Music shows were great, love the 23rd too. The Rocking the Rhein cd bonus disk is a great listen, too if one was lucky enough to order that when available.

Bonus CD [no longer available]:
Playing In The Band
Sugar Magnolia>
Uncle John's Band
Dark Star

can't remember the dates for all of that bonus disk without more research, but Sugar Mags...Uncle John's was from 3/22/72
